<b>Subtile Change #1 - Black Plastic Back</b>

The Apple Iphone 3G has a plastic back instead of a metal back. Apple declares this gives a much better reception than the metal back and also makes the phone lighter.

This is the only noticeable exterior difference between the old and new versions (the Iphone 3G is also slightly more rounded and thicker). Most people will have trouble telling the models apart. They basically look the same.

<b>Subtile Change #2 - 3G</b>

Yep! it is the biggest difference that makes it the Iphone 3G, it is the 3G connection, which was very much lacking in the first release.
